Halloween Past and Present

My Mom is a little insane when it comes to Halloween. Many, many years ago she heard of a Halloween Costume Contest for cats, really!!! She lost her mind. How do you dress a cat??? How can they make a costume contest just for cats and dogs? She dashed back and forth, muttering under her breath, trying to figure out how to dress a cat for Halloween. She had a fat old goose statue by the front door that she had dressed for Halloween, so Mom grabbed the outfit off the goose and jammed it on Jessie. Jessie went stiff as a statue when Mom put that costume on her, then Mom sat Jessie in the chair to take her picture, and Jessie slowly, very slowly, tipped over, still in the same position she was in when Mom sat her on the chair. That was so funny, and Mom laughed so hard that she could hardly take this picture.

And She Won A Prize ...

Thus the yearly Halloween Costume Frenzy began, and as our family grew, we just made more costumes ... every year we had to have the BEST costumes, better than the year before. Mom drove every one crazy asking what we should dress like this year....

I came one year as Captain America, Mom loved that costume, but no one else seemed to get it, oh well, there is always next year. Day-Late and Jessie went as a Biker and a Biker Chick one year. No one at our house thought it was a wonderful costume, but they won the Grand Prize that year.

Angel hates to get dressed up, but she did wear this dumb hat one year. Then SassyJazmine (the Diva) dressed as a witch, and as the Queen of the Nile. She has been a bee and a flower and a princess all in pink, that is her favorite color you know.

One year I went as a baseball player and my twin brother Left went as a fireman. He liked that costume because he got to get all dirty and smudgy like he just got back from a fire. He is a strange fella.

I truly believe my Meowmie has lost her mind, because THIS is what I am going to be this year for Halloween.

A green elephant!!
