How to Train Your Dragon Series, Book Review by Mickey

Many purrs kitties and everyone. The Movie How To Train Your Dragon (remember my review) is based on the children's book by Cressida Cowell. She is an English children's book author. She lives in England with her husband, 2 children, and most importantly her 2 cats.

Any mew, one day Meowmie was at the library studying and she wanted to read How To Train Your Dragon. So she walked into the children's section and checked out How to Train Your Dragon and How to be a Pirate. After that, Meowmie was hooked on these books. The books are fun, easy to read, makes Meowmie giggle and most importantly she relaxes.

Mew has all the books, 4 paws up, and 1 tail up. The series of books are about a small, very smart, red hair, ordinary looking boy named Hiccup. His father is chief of the Tribe and one day Hiccup will become chief. In the books Hiccup is learning to be a Hero the hard way. His best friend is Fishleggs and the other friend is Camicazi. Hiccup's dragon is a very small, Common dragon named Toothless. (very different from the movie) Mew can read the books in any order, but its best to start at the beginning for as the series goes on, it refers to the earlier books.

The books are:

1. How to Train Your Dragon. Hiccup is 10 in this book. Its how Hiccup gets Toothless and their first adventure together.

2. How to Be a Pirate. This is Mickey's favorite book.

3. How to Speak Dragonese. Dragonese is the language that dragons talk to each other in. Hiccup is the only one of his tribe to speak this language. In all the books when Hiccup or the dragons are talking Dragonese its in italics. Also this is the book where Camicazi is introduced. She is the Heir to the Bog Burglars. A tribe of female warriors. Camicazi becomes Hiccup's friend. This is where my Meowmie named our new sisfur Kamzi. :)

4. How to Break a Dragon's Curse. One of Meowmie's favorite books.

5. How to Ride a Dragon's Tale. Its a good story.

6. Hero's Guide to Deadly Dragons. Hiccup is now 12 years old and finds out about his past.

7. How To Ride a Dragon's Storm. Meowmie's second favorite book. Hiccup and friends are kidnapped and have to get back home in 3months. Will they do it? What are their adventures?

8. How to Break a Dragon's Heart. Meowmie's third favorite book. This story does have some scary parts, and Hiccup finds out more about his past.

9. How to Steal a Dragon's Sword. This book is not out yet. It will be October 6. Meowmie has already signed up on Amazon to know when its available.

We have all 8 books. How to Break a Dragon's Heart will be out on Amazon November 7th. Meowmie was sneaky and ordered it in early June from how to train your dragon books. It's a website and its full of fun things to do. Also mew can order books, but even that website does not yet have the 9th book. So we have to wait till October 6 to order the book. It's a long way to October. :( In the books the Hiccup uses his brain a lot and sometimes his sword, Hiccup is left handed.

Mew just knows if mew reads one book, mew will read the others to see what adventure Hiccup Fishleggs and Camicazi are up to. Kittens and even adult cats will enjoy these books.
