13 years ago, when Mike went to the pet shop for fish food, he was shocked to see kittens in a cage. He was even more shocked when he saw that one of them was extremely small and obviously not from the same litter as the others. The store owner said that they were all six weeks old, but Mike knew that the tiny one was younger. Mike bought this tiny little boy and took him right over to our vet. The vet said that the kitten was only 3 weeks old and very sick because he didn't actually know how to eat.

We named him KeeKee because that was the way that our youngest grand daughter pronounced "kitty". We fed him kitty formula from a doll bottle and made a litter box from an 8 inch cake pan. KeeKee grew to be a big boy and the light of our hearts. With his internet friends, he managed to have lots of adventures and get in trouble, often.

On June 4th, our precious KeeKee went to Rainbow Bridge, very
unexpectedly. KeeKee was 12 years old and would have turned 13 on July 7th. A big piece of our hearts went with him. We draw comfort in knowing that he is with his beloved Littlefoot, who was his best friend. In fact, he thought Littlefoot was his fur meowmie.

KeeKee - we will never forget you and we will love you forever and beyond. Some day we will all be together again.

(footnote: We found out that this pet shop owner would take unwanted litters of kittens and sell them. We never found out what happened to the rest of KeeKee's litter or what happened to kittens he couldn't sell. Several years later, his license was revoked and the store was shut down.)
