Purring Paws Partners, My Heros!

by AmberRose
I am a member of Purring Paws, not just because it sort of happened,
but because I want to be. I learned about Purring Paws soon after becoming
a part of ML’s family. I learned that the members really do care
about the issues they Purr about. I learned from Angel Myste and Angel
Twist as well as the current leader, Bumpurr.
The First Leader was Penny Bobb. She started Purring Paws in CLAW, that
wonderful organization of the distant past. She carried on for a bit
after CLAW closed, but felt she needed to pass the baton on, so to speak.
Lil’Bit was next, and when she crossed the Bridge, her brofur
Day Late filled in for a while. But Day Late’s heart just wasn’t
in it, and he continued until ML’s own dear Myste was convinced
by Purring Paws Memfurs to become leader. Oddly enough, Penny and Myste
crossed to the Rainbow Bridge within a week of each other. Well, Twist
wasn’t cut out to be a Purring Paws leader, or so I’ve been
told. But, Bumpurr cheerfully sauntered up to take over. Well, Bumps
may be the most laid back of leaders, but he does Purr really well!
But, back to my initial premise...
Why are the Purring Paws Partners my Heros? Well, because they REALLY
DO care. They take a few seconds or minutes each day to think about
those who are less fortunate, who have some special concerns, and those
who just need a bit of support. So, even though I came into Purring
Paws by a sort of default, I do believe in the cause! So, if YOU care
about others less fortunate than yourself; if YOU believe there is some
Great Spirit, Higher Power, Great Bastet or Ruler of the Universe who
can intervene in our world; if you have Fur and Purr, then this is the
group for you!
The Purring Paws Society is not a religious organization,
and its members do not promote any faith, creed, or theology. We simply
send our purrs to those in need in the hope that they will receive whatever
physical, spiritual, or emotional gifts necessary to make them well,
or at least better. We purr for cats, people, and even dogs who are
sick, injured, touched by natural disaster, homeless or abused. We purr
for those who have crossed or are about to cross the Rainbow Bridge,
as well as the families they leave behind. We purr for those who have
lost or given up hope.
Most of the time a weekly Purr Repurrt is sent on Saturday or Sunday
evening by Bumpurr, our leader. Quite often tho, there is a quick Purr
Request sent whenever Bumpurr hears of a need for Purrs. These needs
frequently come directly to him, but just as often, come thru the lines
of connection to others we have. We Purr for those whoever need a comforting
Purr or two.
The Purring Paws Guild has also established a card sending team to help
bring happiness, and show concern and caring on birthdays. If any of
you gentle readers haven't sent your birthdate in please do so, and
you'll be put on our birthday list. I, AmberRose, is in charge of the
PurrDay Card Team. I try to get the list out to my Team members in a
timely manner so Cats, Critters and Meowmies will get a Happy Purr Day
Greeting.
We also try to send cards to all the creatures, human & animal,
out there on the net. We want to send cards of get-well, sympathy, and
any other care/catcern we know about. Right now, this team needs a member
or two who can help in this. If this appeals to you, please e-mew me
and I will fill you in on the easy way mew can help. We would like to
send more cards, but right now it is mostly Purrs of energy and thought
that we send, so please let me know if you can help even a little.
If you know someone who is ill or has had a family member cross, please
let us know, and we will send out a Purr note. So, besides praising
the members of Purring Paws, I am asking that any cat or other critter
who would like to be on the list of Purring Partners, please let me
know. YOU can be a Hero just by getting the Purr Repurrt, and spending
a few minutes Purring for those who need a Purr or two.
As most of mew know, it is Bumpurr who is the leader. But, because he
is frail and not as strong as he was, he will be stepping down. Somehow,
I think it has become a tradition in our family for the next kitty to
take over, so I guess I will continue the tradition. But, I really do
ask you to consider helping me out with becoming a Care and Catcern
Card Sender. You really will have a good feeling when you send the cards.
You can be a Card Sending Hero!
All the Purring Paws Partners are Heros, though, and I am proud I will
be carrying on the Tradition. You can e-mew Purring Paws for any reason
at PurringPaws@icnet.net. We’d love to hear from mew!
