Hero at Home

I have a real live hero in my family, our dog, Brownie. He just loves cats. There's a feral cat who lives in our back yard named Pepe Twin. Meowmie had him neutered and feeds him every day. So he's kind of like a part of our family, although none of us have ever met him. Every day when Brownie goes outside, Pepe Twin will go right up to him and rub on him as if to mark Brownie as his. Brownie will sniff him and wag his tail and be very friendly toward him. He's very gentle with cats. He never does any harm. And because he doesn't run wild in the yard like our other dog does, mainly because of her youth, Pepe Twin isn't afraid of him. He will just be friends with Brownie forever.

Our dog, Angel, who is only a little over a year old, still likes to play like a puppy. So she wants to run and jump at Pepe Twin. She likes him, but she wants to play with him. She's much too rough and it frightens him, so he hisses at her. She's gotten a scratched nose from him more than once, tee hee! But Brownie never gets scratched because he's always so calm and gentle. He's a true friend to all cats.
