"Dear Newman, We miss you so much. You were the gentlest, most uncomplaining dog we ever knew. You never snapped when meowmie gave you food from her hand. You just opened your mouth and let her put the food in. Even if Brownie was standing there, you never bit or grabbed. You took it very gently. You were kind to the kitties in the house as well as the ferals out in the yard. You never chased or hurt them. You loved them all. You were a wonderful walking companion for meowmie. She misses the walks she used to have with you before that awful bone cancer claimed your ability to go for walks any more. You used to pull on the leash like a husky pulling a sled. But meowmie didn't mind because it encouraged her to walk faster and get the most out of her exercizes. You didn't complain when you had seizures from your epilepsy or when your leg became so swollen with cancer you could hardly use it any more. You just picked your leg up and ran with it. Nothing kept you down. You would actually jump for joy and gallop. You were so happy right to the end. You always had a tail to wag and a loving greeting for meowmie when she came home from grocery shopping. And you loved your treats. You and Brownie were the best of friends, even though Brownie was sometimes a little jealous of you. Brownie misses you now. We miss you. We love you. We wish you safe journey. We hope you're happy now that you are reunited with grandmeowmie and the rest of the family who went to the bridge before you. The house isn't the same without you. There's an empty place in the kitchen where you used to love to lay. But we rejoice that you are out of pain now and running free at the bridge. Till we meet again, remember us. Love, The Tyger's Den Family: Brownie, Misty, Boo Boo, Yogi, Patches, Twinkles, Meowmie Kitty and your outside feral friends Pepe Twin and Mama MaltaNewman Feb. 12, 1997 - Sept. 15, 2007"
