Here we are in a new year, spring is just around the corner and I am still wondering how we got here so fast. This has been a long hard winter and I know that everyone is going to enjoy the summer weather when it gets here. Even with me living in the tropics, I am looking forward to warm weather again. Mom made the mistake of saying she didn't even have a winter coat, and some of her northern friends made fun of her. But our winter was cold too, even tho a tropic winter isn't like a northern winter. We usually only have cold weather for a couple weeks all winter long, but this year it has lasted for 2 months. We had frost a couple times, something that doesn't happen down here very often. And we don't have a lot of warm clothing because usually we just don't need it. When it gets cold here, Mom says everyone is dressed like a "Bag Lady" (whatever that is) because they put on layer after layer of clothing trying to stay warm, then as it warms up, off comes a sweat shirt, then a sweater, etc, one layer at a time.
